Bath Ear & Eye Infirmary

Head to the building now housing W.F Dolman & Sons which opened as the Bath Ear & Eye Infirmary in 1837. The infirmary was a charitable institution providing medical and surgical relief to those who could least afford it. On the left wall of the building you can just make out the infirmary's name. The most distinctive feature is the Greek revival bust of Aesculapius, God of Healing. However, the building was present in 1810 and what appears to be a bath has been discovered underneath the floor. As there doesn't appear to be any documentation for the bath it would suggest that it could have been a house of ill repute.
