Badger

A badger appears against a rich pattern of flowers, based on the mille-fleurs tapestries. The black and white striped badger is one of the UK’s most iconic animals and our biggest land predator. They feed on small mammals, ground nesting birds’ eggs, earthworms, fruit and bulbs. Badgers live in large family groups and are mostly active during the night where they can be spotted in gardens as well as woodland and farmland. Despite persecution over many centuries their population remains healthy.
