A personalised gift for a very fine dog

Samuel Johnson (1709-84), compiler of the first English Dictionary, was not only a writer and critic, but also a renowned and witty conversationalist. Dr Johnson – as he is always known – was devoted to his cat Hodge who lived with him at 17 Gough Square, London. Although he is reputed to have said “...but he is a very fine cat indeed...” we would like to think that should he have owned a dog, Dr Johnson might well have said “Here lives a very fine dog indeed”.
We have created a variation of the Fine Dog tile that allows for a short name (up to 6 letters) to be added. If the name is 7 letters please contact us first before ordering. This makes an excellent gift for any dog lover, but it can also be used to remember a dog that has passed away. Just add your dogs name in the blank box above.
