Price £38 (including UK Tracked post) for us to specially create a copy of this tile. The mould is retrieved from storage and set up for the press. Inscription: GIVE PEACE IN OUR TIME O LORD
The dove, with foliage entwined in its tail feathers, is based on a stone carving in the church of St Peter, Rowlstone. During the 12th century a new form of sculpture appeared in this area of the Welsh borders which has come to be known as the Herefordshire School of Carving. The chant Da pacem, Domine, in diebus nostris ~ Give peace in our time o Lord has been sung in churches all over Europe from very early times and to this day forms a part of some Christian services.
