Price £38 (including UK Tracked post) for us to specially create a copy of this tile. The mould is retrieved from storage and set up for the press. Cave Canem is translated as “Beware of the Dog”. The dog and the Latin phrase can still be seen in mosaic on the entrance hall floor of a house in the Roman city of Pompeii. The mosaic dog in Pompeii is depicted as a rather savage looking dog. Here we have made him friendly. This tile design is a humorous version of the traditional warning but still alerts strangers to the presence of a dog.
